Mark Osmack for Congress
A 4th generation St. Louisan, Mark grew up one of four kids. He got his first job at fourteen continued working continuously throughout high school and college. His father is a nurse practitioner who served in the Army Reserve and his mother is a chaplain who ministers throughout the St. Louis region. They instilled in their kids a commitment to service; both of Mark’s brothers joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and his sister is a nurse in St. Louis. Mark’s family history of duty and service led him to join the U.S. Army after earning his degree at Mizzou.
As an artillery officer and platoon leader, Mark served two combat tours in Afghanistan where he led countless patrols throughout small cities, towns, and rugged countryside. Each mission led to drink bottomless cups of chai with Afghan villagers, leaders, and security forces with the conversation always about improving Afghanistan's immediate and long-term future.
Utilizing the Post-9/11 GI Bill, Mark earned a Masters of Public Administration from the George Washington University while working on national defense and veterans affairs issues in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate in Washington, DC.
